If you are a licensed real estate agent or broker, you are qualified to become a C-REPS. Becoming a C-REPS is a great way to expand your real estate business. Most C-REPS perform Broker Price Opinions (BPOs). Performing BPOs is a great way to increase your income, expand your real estate business, and establish a rapport with REO asset managers, banks, lenders etc. which can lead to the listing and sales of distressed properties i.e. REOs, foreclosures, short sales etc.

Please Note:

Although most C-REPS perform BPOs, getting BPO jobs is competitive and some agents and brokers may not be able to readily obtain BPO work. As such, it is not a requirement to actually perform BPO jobs in order to obtain and maintain the C-REPS designation. Furthermore, some states have certain restrictions to performing BPOs. Providing a free House Price Report to the general public in an attempt to gain a client and/or listing is permissible in every state. Many Agents and Brokers who are not interested in performing BPOs will become a C-REPS to generate leads because the C-REPS designation is heavily marketed and advertised to the general public.

 

Please be sure to research your state laws to establish your comfort level with the possibility of performing BPOs. It is a C-REPS discretion the type of report provided in the "Free House Pricing Report". Most C-REPS provide a CMA style report which are permissible in every state.
